FRIENDS REMEMBERING
His many friends on the Coast were deeply saddened last month when Philip Burrows died after stoically battling illness. A long-time resident of the Coast with his wife Wendy and family, Philip was remembered in the way he would have particularly appreciated: with a special and moving informal ceremony in a natural place of beauty, the mountains where he enjoyed so many enjoyable and pleasurable experiences walking with his dearest friends.

NEW RESTAURANT OPENING
MOZAIC RESTAURANT AND LOUNGE
Sumptuous dishes at newly opened restaurant
Mozaic Restaurant and Lounge has recently opened in Urb. Las Chapas, Marbella, on the opposite side of the road to Urb. El Rosario. The restaurant has been newly decorated and offers a large, spacious, open terrace and interior area for those who do not want to dine al fresco. The lounge area incorporates an innovative glass curtain, enabling those who want an aperitif before dinner or some after-dinner drinks to sit outside the bar but still be a part of the atmosphere inside.
The menu, which has been created by talented head chef Thomas Tilkin, includes sumptuous dishes such as lobster bisque; foie gras; scallops in saffron sauce; fillet steak with three pepper sauce; and sea bas in white butter. Also available are a variety of wok dishes, salads, pizzas and pastas and a special children’s menu. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner or you can simply enjoy a drink in the lounge.

Meanwhile, we are pleased to offer space in these pages to Costa associations looking after and trying to find homes for abandoned or mistreated animals. If you would like news or contact details for your association included in this section, email: editorial@societylivingmagazine.com
Siempre Contigo Rota: This animal protection organisation in Cádiz province has been working since 2006 to protect, defend and care for helpless dogs and cats in the Rota area, and the team manage a little shelter with 11 cells for more than 60 dogs, while the cats are relocated in foster homes. The land belongs to the town hall but they don’t receive any economical help from public institutions, and maintain their efforts with the help of people who sponsor the dogs or make donations – even using their own money when needed. They have supporters who help find homes in Germany and Holland, and British friends in Málaga, but need more help. “If you have an empty basket at home, if you have a place in your heart for a new friend, contact us, visit our website (siemprecontigoprotectora.org), go to ‘PERROS-GATOS PENDIENTES DE ADOPCION’ and look into their eyes; they will tell you a lot of things, a lot of feelings; and if you wish to come and visit our shelter please do.” All the animals leave the shelter with tetravalente and rabies vaccinations, and are micro-chipped and castrated, with passports provided. English speakers can contact Marij: sorolla64@hotmail.com
